Abacus Awards

TechAmerica 15th Annual Abacus Awards
TechAmerica Florida is partnering again this year with the South Florida Technology Alliance to recognize those high tech leaders that have made a significant contribution to the state of the technology industry in Florida.
The 2010 Abacus Awards will recognize:
- Lifetime Achievement Award
- Entrepreneur of the Year Award
- Researcher of the Year Award
- Cool Tech Award
Lifetime Achievement Award
Presented to an individual for significant lifetime contributions. Nominations will be evaluated for the ‘breakthrough’ value of their contributions and the impact of their work on the industry and society.
Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Presented to an individual for outstanding leadership of a technology company. Nominations will be evaluated on the individual’s entrepreneurial achievements. Nominees should provide leadership and direct contributions to the growth and success of his/her company to be considered.
Researcher of the Year Award
Presented to an individual for distinguished achievement in the field of physical science research. Nominations will be evaluated based on the significance of the research and its potential for leading to ‘disruptive’ or ‘game-changing’ technology innovations.
Cool Tech Award
Presented to the company that has developed, and/or introduced a cool product within the past 18 months. The product can be a hardware, software, or technology-service product which is innovative and has created significant new opportunity for the company. All nominees for this award will be required to submit a video, 30 seconds or less in length. Videos are not due at the time on nomination. Please submit the video by November 5th. Nominees will also have a display table at the event. This award will be voted on LIVE by the attendees of the luncheon after viewing the nominees videos.
