Upcoming Events

March 14, 2012 – What the new generation of media want today?
What a blogger wants may be entirely different from what attracts a journalist.  During a time where just about anyone can be a journalist, this is an ideal moment to get their feedback, while their daily grind is on pause for one hour, just for you!  You’ll learn what they are covering, the types of stories, products that attract them?  Our goal is to take the guessing game out of media relations, so you’ll ponder no more…Bring your questions–they’ll have answers!

May 9, 2012 – Accelerator Bootcamp: Tech Trends & Markets
Attention sales development teams and market share scouts…This message is exclusively for you!  We cover a lot of social media and PR trends…But we haven’t forgotten the sales side of things.  As you gear up for another brave year of disruptive technologies accross the board, let’s not lose site of the opportunities that abound. The clock is ticking, and a dose of timely information to give your business the extra boost it needs to prosper, could be just thing you need.

During this high-level strategic program, technology gurus will discuss tech trends today, and in the near future, that are impacting how businesses work and consumers live.  We’ll explore how they will alter current practices, expected market sizes and growth rates, and the vast degree of opportunities they present for entrepreneurial-minded individuals and companies (both small and large).  Thought leaders will discuss acceleration strategies addressing challenges start-ups and SMBs encounter and the means to overcome them.

The trend for TechAmerica OC Sales & Marketing Roundtables is not having enough seats available for the many who want to attend our programs.  Make sure to reserve space for you and your sales team today!  It’s been a long time since we’ve dedicated a roundtable to sales specifically.  Your show of attendence will tell us whether we made the right choice and should continue on this path.

Aug. 1, 2012 – From Introvert to Master Connector
Hey you behind the computer screen!  What are you doing? Whether you’re attracting new business or making new career moves, being an introvert is no excuse for not networking!  There are far too many communication platforms and techniques leading to one finding thier own comfort zone.  Forget what you heard 10-years-ago, this is the modern way of building your business, and complimenting your professional journey.  People like good people who know good people, who know good people.  Simple! Today’s Sales/Marketing Director, Manager, CEO, and VP have to be out networking, because sitting behind a desk isn’t going to foster meaningful, lasting connections!

We’ll have coffee to fend off the morning dust, and bagels with fruit for rumbling tummies.  Come and hear some great true-to-life ideas for how to convert yourself from an introvert to a master connector.

Oct. 10, 2012 – Un-Sales Person 2.0 Bootcamp
The sales executive of yesterday is becoming extinct (or rather is already extinct). How does the sales executive of today look?  What does she do?  What tools do he use? Do people even know he’s in sales?  Typically, you know you’re in the presence of a sales executive when you get this sudden urge to say, “You know, I have a conference call I have to take…Give me your card, and I’ll call you.”

Perhaps the sales executive of today looks more like a friend; shares articles that may be of interest; retweets your tweets; like your posts on Facebook and LinkedIn; and does a response video on YouTube. Perhaps he invites you to have coffee to talk about nothing in particular.  Or she sends you tickets to the Lakers game.  Whatever they do, they sure are a pleasure to be around and their “sales-i-ness” [we made that word up] is undetectable! Mission accomplished!  We’ve invited a panel of savvy un-sales executives to speak to their technique.  Don’t miss this exclusive panel discussion!  And remember…now our seats fill up fast…so sign-up early ;)

Nov. 14, 2012 – B2B Social Media Case Study
Let’s get ready for another round of B2B Blogging.  It’s a popular topic and it’s not going away.  Our last roundtable on this topic featured Roland DGA, who’s marcom manager shared the company’s successes and lessons learned from their B2B Blogging journey.  Sales & Marketing Roundtable Chair Cara Stewart, Remarx Media Chief Rabble Rouser, is at it again with another company ready to share their experiences. And while we covered this topic in 2011, no two organizations are alike–for every company rolls out their B2B Blogging plans unique to their business needs.  And just as we want the thought leader’s perspective on this topic, we want yours too, as we know you’re busy in the trenches on the grind for your company’s bottom line!  So please join us with an appetite to learn and exchange!  We’ll have coffee and bagels ready to go!  See you there my friends!

Chair Biographies

Cara Stewart, Chair

Cara Stewart is the founder and chief rabble-rouser of Remarx Media. She’s a fearless leader and entrepreneur with more than 17 years of experience in journalism, marketing communications and public relations.

KTLA 5 News (Los Angeles), MSNBC, The Orange County Register, The Orange County Business Journal, Communication World and other outlets have considered her as a go-to media resource on the topics of business branding, the use of social media in PR, and the role of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in brand-building. She also speaks frequently to business, civic and academic organizations, including the Association for Women in Technology, Harvard Business Review, NAWBO-Orange County and Vanguard University, on these topics.

Cara co-founded WunderMarx|PR in 2002 and grew it into one of the top four PR agencies in Orange County, Calif., as ranked by The Orange County Business Journal. Always at the forefront of technology and business trends, she identified the importance of social media and content development for B2B technology companies and founded Remarx Media in 2010 to focus on these media specialties.
