CIO Survey

Get Involved: Dr. Beth Noveck, Deputy CTO for Open Government, Office of Science & Technology Policy, and Dr. David McClure, Associate Administrator, Office of Citizen Services and Communications, GSA, speaking on a TechAmerica panel

This committee represents the interests of technology vendors in the federal civilian government marketplace. Since its inception, the committee has been an invaluable resource to members on issues such as technology trends, key issues and challenges affecting CIOs and CXOs, and allowing members to optimize business and networking opportunities. The members focus on business development and government customer interface. During 2011, the members are focusing on the programs of the Obama Administration including cloud computing, transparency, and IT investment reforms to name a few. The Committee meets the third Wednesday of each month from 9:30 – 11:30 AM ET unless otherwise noted.

Subcommittees

  • ­Federal Executive Roundtables
    These roundtable events allow dialogue between Federal Government officials and industry executives in an intimate non-sales environment.  Current policy issues and programs are discussed as appropriate by the attendees.  Attendance is limited to 18 or less.
  • Federal CIO Survey
    An annual publication produced through personal member-conducted interviews of CIO’s and other senior government officials throughout the Federal Government to get an understanding of their concerns and priorities.  The 2009-10 CIO survey was released on March 23 at the third annual CIO Survey conference.
  • Small Business Subcommittee
  • This Subcommittee, which is jointly sponsored with the Procurement Policy Committee, focuses on the interests of the small and mid-size business within TechAmerica. It also monitors the concerns of large firms in meeting their small business goals. Current issues include the SBA’s proposal to modify the size standards. For more information, contact D.   • Cloud Computing Subcommittee
    This Committee’s mission is to educate policy makers, federal government marketplace and customers about the implications of the emergence of cloud computing. This Committee focuses on policy issues surrounding the Federal, state and local government’s ability to procure, deploy, and utilize cloud computing. Members focus their efforts on defining the marketplace for the technology, identifying and advocating on relevant policy issues, exploring industry best practices and hosting networking and business intelligence events. As part of this effort the Committee prepared a transition paper for the current administration.
  • Air Traffic Control (ATC) Subcommittee
    This Subcommittee is an industry liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other government air traffic control-related agencies. Members have backgrounds in marketing, ATC and other FAA equipment procurement. Committee meetings feature FAA or other agency speakers discussing issues such as telecommunications programs, acquisition policies, budget matters, etc.
