July 31, 2010: 8th Annual Party in the Pinot
On July 31, hundreds of the area's top executives and service providers enjoyed the technology industry's premier event of the summer, the 8th annual Party in the Pinot. Guests enjoyed high-caliber networking, food prepared by JoPa, after dinner music by Patrick Lamb and the popular, Scotch and Cigar Bar. The event took place at the Oswego Hills Winery in West Linn, OR, and a Silent Wine Auction was held to support the education Robotics programs ORTOP and FIRST.

May 6, 2010: Oregon Technology Awards Program
Over 400 of the area's high-tech professionals celebrated excellence and achievement in the region’s technology industry at the 2010 Oregon Technology Awards Program. Jim Johnson, President and Chief Executive Officer, Tripwire, Inc. was recognized as the 2010 Technology Executive of the Year. In addition, five individual industry segment and product awards were presented, recognizing recipients for their accomplishments, leadership and commitment to the community and industry! Proceed from this event will go to support math, science and technology education programs for Oregon students. TechAmerica Foundation's Cyberstates 2010 - U.S. High-Tech Industry Sheds 245,600 Jobs in 2009
Oregon’s high-tech industry lost 1,100 net jobs, a one percent decrease, for a total of 85,900 in 2008, the most recent year for which state data are available. Oregon saw slight gains in computer systems design and related services (+500 jobs), and software publishers (+100 jobs). The state saw its greatest losses in semiconductor manufacturing employment (-1,400 jobs). Despite losses however, Oregon still ranks 3rd nationwide in semiconductor manufacturing employment with 24,500 jobs.
